What is EP Assist?
EP Assist is a secure, AI-supported report-writing platform designed by Educational Psychologists, for Educational Psychologists. It helps you draft clear, structured reports while keeping you fully in control of all content.
Who created EP Assist?
EP Assist has been developed by Dr Rachel McKeating and Dr Deanne Bell, practising Educational Psychologists, in partnership with the UK development company Arch. Our goal is to build the tools we wish to access to in our own EP practice.

It is designed to support both statutory and non-statutory workloads.
How does the AI work?
The AI generates draft text based on the information you input. You can then edit, refine, and adapt each section. You remain the author, and the platform never completes a report without your involvement.
We use secure, constrained AI models that do not train on your data.
Will my data be stored?
No.
We operate a zero-day data retention policy. This means:

Open AI does not store report content.

Delete means delete. You can store your reports within EP Assist for as long as you require, then delete when no longer needed.

Servers are based in the UK/EEA only.
You stay the Data Controller, and EP Assist acts as Data Processor.
Is EP Assist GDPR compliant?
Yes.
The system has been designed in line with UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act (2018).

Do I need to anonymise data before entering it?
No, you will be able to enter sensitive data and it will be stored securely.
What report types can EP Assist help with?
EP Assist currently supports any bespoke template you currently use. Both independent, Local Authority and statutory templates.
Does EP Assist replace the Educational Psychologist?
No.
EP Assist supports drafting and structure, but professional judgement always comes first.
You must read, review, and approve all text. The tool enhances efficiency; it does not replace expertise.
Can I use my local authority’s template?
Yes.
There are custom template uploads and LA-specific template libraries.
Independent EPs always have a duty to inform the commissioner of your use of AI.
What devices can I use?
EP Assist works on:

A stable internet connection is required for AI features.
How much time can EP Assist save me?
Early pilot feedback suggests notable reductions in drafting time.
